Plan for a panorama for the event “Why?”: Why is the sky blue?
Task: Take a panorama with a nice blue sky.
Text: Give a scientific explanation for this phenomenon.
Problem: There are no blue skies around; just cloudy and rainy weather.
Defiant solution for the panorama:
Task: Take a panorama with a NON-blue sky.
Text: Give a scientific explanation for the phenomenon of a blue sky. Scorn the cloudy sky.
What really happened: I collected my panorama equipment and set off for a nearby bridge where the NON-blue sky reflects in the water of a lake. But on the way there, I walked past a bronze statue of Bacchus, the Roman god of wine, drunkenness, insanity, ecstasy and theatre, but mainly wine. The statue is looking at the sky in a relaxed and joyful way – without caring whether the sky is blue or not. And Bacchus is holding some grapes in his left hand. Behind him, there is a slope with grapevines. This reminded me of the book of Ecclesiastes (or Kohelet) 3:1: To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven. You can listen to a great song by Pete Seeger on these verses: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ImZnbqYYRpU&list=RDImZnbqYYRpU&start_radio=1
And I remembered Ecclesiastes 9:7: Go, eat your food with gladness, and drink your wine with a joyful heart, for God has already approved what you do.
So I took the panorama of Bacchus, went home, and had a glass of wine – turn, turn, turn.
