This place serves several needs, first of, a monastery for Benedictine monks. (Wikipedia can describe the long history better than me.)

Andechs monastery is also a famous brewery since 1455. That's an other reason why really a lot of people are comming here. (I counted 13 busses in the big parking aerea.) A beer garden is on the other side of the building with the Klosterladen where you can get Andechs Bier, Schweinshaxen and Brezeln.

For me it was a perfect sunny day and a wonderful location to serve me for my WWP panorama.
