In February of this year I came to Amsterdam for the first time on business.
It should be noted that winter, and specifically February, is perhaps the worst time to visit not only Amsterdam, but also other cities in Northern Europe. All around is grayness, dampness, lack of colors, cold... But at the same time, the non-tourist season gives the absence of tourist crowds and relatively low prices for food and housing.
What I liked about Amsterdam:
- Beautiful houses with completely different and sometimes incompatible architecture.
- Tourist cruise boats along the canals.
- Flows of cyclists, harmoniously integrated into street traffic.
- The noisy flow of tourists and locals on Dam Square, periodically interrupted by the sounds of passing trams.
- Pigeons on the paving stones of the Dam. There are not as many of them as in Venice, but quite enough to notice and take into account.
