Worcester has suffered a number of floods already in 2024. With the catchment area of the River Severn being deep within Wales, given a few days of heavy rain and the river levels are rising. Worcester is also home to a large number of swans who normally keep themselves to the river, well unless water levels rise.
Once this happens and their world gets much larger, and they don't just stop where the water stops. If you look up the grass bank, you can see more up there too. Just here, below the water, is a fountain that during the summer children run through and in the distance you can see the seats that surround the fountain just poking out of the water where their parents would sit.
Luckily this situation doesn't usually last for too long and the swans return back to the normal confides of the river. The final task is the cleanup of the riverside paths before everything is returned to normal.
