The cultural and historical riches of the world were once for the fortunate few ones with enough means to afford a grand tour during which, -in a kind of rite of passage- they travelled for months or even years to satisfy their curiosity,refine their tastes and improve their learning and knowledge of the roots of european culture. Due to the XXth century's improvements in transport and the economical rising of the middle classes mass tourism made it possible for this cultural riches to be enjoyed by larger amounts of people. Soon arose the debate: has this not trivialized many masterpieces? Does not this deteriorate our cultural heritage? On the other hand: should these masterpieces remain an exquisite pleasure for the chosen ones?

De los 'Grand Tours' al turismo de masas
La riquezas artístico-culturales del mundo fueron en un pasado no tan lejano algo que sólo podían disfrutar los
suficientemente afortunados como para permitirse un Grand Tour a lo largo del que, como en un rito iniciático, saciar su curiosidad, refinar sus gustos y aumentar su comprensión y conocimiento sobre las raíces de la cultura europea.A lo largo del siglo XX con la mejora de los medios de transporte y el ascenso económico de las clases medias y el turismo de masas estas riquezas se pusieron a disposición de mucha más gente, y pronto surgieron discusiones ¿no se están vulgarizando excesivamente muchas obras maestras? ¿No se deteriora así el patrimonio? Por otro lado: deben seguir siendo estas obras maestras un exquisito placer exclusivo para unos pocos?

Ez al gara ondarea horrela hondatzen ari? Bainan beste alde batetik: gizadiaren maisulan hauen gozatzea bakarrik aukeratu gutxi batzuen eskura egon daiteke?
