Everyone has its own references, of course. For me the first of all is probably, Carmen: the opera by Bizet, inspired by Prosper Mérimée's book, but there is also Rainer Maria Rilke, who fell in love with the place and wrote some poems here too.
But Ronda is also a place of 'bandoleros' and has also one of the most important bullrings in Spain, La Maestranza. It hosts several music festivals.
The panorama shows the most famous feature of the wonderful natural setting Ronda is in: El Tajo, that is 'The cut' carved by the river Guadalevín, that divides the city in two.
