Bern is not only the capital of Switzerland but also has a very nice old town that is limited on three sides by a loop of the river Aare. The Old City of Bern is listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site. The typical "Lauben", as the open arcades are called here, are from the 15th century, while the many decorated fountains are from the 16th century. This panorama was taken from the top of one of these fountains, where you yourself can be the figure decorating the pillar.
