Since the beginning of the 13th century, a wooden bridge has been crossing the river Brenta. Renovated and renewed several times, the present bridge construction from 1569 goes back to the famous architect Palladio (Andrea di Pietro della Gondola). After it was destroyed in World War II, it was rebuilt by Italian mountain infantry (Alpini). In honour of them, it is also called "Ponte degli Alpini". It is extensively restored in 2017.
