Mandø Mølle - Mandø Mill

The mill is Mandøs tallest building and the landmark of the beatiful island. It was built in 1830. Although - Mandø is only an island at high tide.
At low tide you can drive with your own car to Mandø (or with a tractorbus) via an unpaved roadway (causeway). The dam is flooded at high tide or even at low tide if there is a storm.

We arrived with our own car in the afternoon when all the tourists from the tractorbusses had already left Mandø. By that time Mandø Mill was already closed for visitors. So we couldn't see all the wooden parts and gears inside. After a restoration (starting 2004) the mill now is fully functional and able to grind grain!
