94th Aero Squadron Restaurant

The 94th Aero Squadron Restaurant at the Van Nuys Airport in Los Angeles, CA boasts a faux French country-style house and yard in ruins, littered with WWII era props and some old vehicles and planes. The country farm is decked out in true Hollywood fashion to portray a bombed and burned home, and scattered broken down and abandoned military armaments. Inside, this wing of the house, it looks completely gutted and dilapidated.

Though just a restaurant, the scene exemplifies how ingrained the war still is on the American psyche, at least for baby boomers and older generations. The life-sized diorama serves as a reminder of the era, and a minor tribute to fallen French and Allied forces and innocents, who's service and sacrifice continue to be acknowledged today.

The 94th Aero Squadron can be visited in Van Nuys, CA, Miami, FL, and in Columbus, OH.

It also just happened to be a nice fall day with some color and clouds too. I decided to return here to shoot RUINS after doing some 360º Video the day before.
