On September 11th, 2011, the Empty Sky Memorial was dedicated at Jersey City’s Liberty State Park. The memorial, consisting of two 30-foot-high rectangular stainless steel towers that stretch 208 feet, 10 inches long, the exact width of the World Trade Center towers, honors the men and women from New Jersey who died in the September 11th attacks. The name of each New Jersey victim is etched in 4-inch-high letters. The walls channel the visitor’s sight to the location in the Manhattan skyline where the World Trade Center towers once stood.
