Although the view of the actual crossroads at this spot 12 miles WNW of Taos, New Mexico, is, by itself, not spectacular, the Sangre De Cristo Mountains visible in the background do add interest. What is spectacular is the available view 180° opposite the crossroads that only a spherical panorama can convey. At an altitude of over 7,000 ft., the thinner atmosphere provides for many memorable sunsets that are unique to the high desert southwestern United States.
