I have read that the average thunderstorm releases the energy equivalent of a 20 kiloton nuclear weapon, I imagine this one was several times that strong. The difference between the storm and the nuclear weapon is the speed of the energy release.
Now we will have to see how long it take to get the energy turned back on... I couldn't find one place that looked good, so I did a half panorama, and made a collage of other pictures.
