Summer in Northern Arizona means recreation in the National Forest. The forest fills with people camping, hiking, biking, and running along the forest roads.

I took this pano during the Big Brothers/Big Sisters Half Marathon where I was operating with Amateur Radio to provide safety communications during the race (cell coverage is marginal/non-existant in off-road areas). This race is one of many that take place every summer including full marathons, a 65 mile bike race and, a 100 mile foot race.

Campers can be seen spread along the forest roads as free dry camping is allowed in this area.
