The East Texas region is primarily a thick forest of pines, hence the name Pineywoods! This woodland is part of a larger forest that extends into Louisiana, Arkansas, and Oklahoma.

The last day we were here we saw 2 white tail deer come near the condo foraging for food. Friendly Gray squirrels, red bird Cardinals and wood peckers were also seen.
