Holly Lake is nestled in the Great Piney Woods located East Texas. Bud and Jean (our family relatives) invited us to spend a few quiet and peaceful days at Holly Lake. We took long walks and talked.

I noticed the early morning sun rays displaying green growth. Looking closer the green growth was actually "New" Pine tree seedling starts. They were only 2 - 3" high (5 - 7 centimeters) tall.

The mature Pine trees nearby were 100+ foot high (33+ meters). These Pine trees dropped their Pine Cones which on dry days opened and released their seeds. Early Spring rains provided the needed moisture to start the new tree growth. I suspect a few thousand new trees will eventually grow in this area.
