The Arctic Tern is believed to have the longest migration among birds in the world. The breeding takes place close to the Arctic circle (e.g. at Högbonden) but they spend the winter in Antarctica. That makes a trip of around 35000km, 22000 miles, each year.
Hogbonden can be reached by a short boat trip from the small villages of Barsta and Bönhamn of Nordingrå.
