Most of the people who ride the ferry are regular commuters with very fixed patterns and habits. And those patterns can be pretty firmly set. For example, the other day I said Hi to a friend who I often chat with on a morning ferry... but this time we were on an evening ferry. It actually took him a moment to recognize me!
This is a view from the western end of the ferry "Wenatchee" as we head toward Bainbridge Island. Way back at the other end of the car deck you can see a little slice of Seattle framed up. The crossing takes about 35 minutes and is a very popular tourist activity - kids love it! You get a lovely view of the Seattle skyline, and there are lots of nice places to eat lunch or dinner on Bainbridge within easy walking distance of the ferry terminal.
