Väterchen Timofej's Garden

My first idea to shoot a garden was a motive I already shot last year for the water event, but which i did not upload. Arriving at the place I noticed, that a coterie occupied this public garden, and I could not enter, as I had no invitation. On my way home a garden came into my mind, that I already had visited several times before. I found a nice spot and this is the result.

Trivia

In the early 1950s a fugitive from Russia came to Munich. His name was Timofej Wassiljewitsch Prochorow, but he soon was called "Väterchen Timofej" (translates roughly to "Old Father Timofej"). Between the debris of the World War II, that has been moved from the whole city to Oberwiesenfeld (the first Munich airport), Väterchen Timofej built a small house, a chapel and later a small church. In the late 1960s the authorities wanted to tear down the buildings that have been built without a building permit, because they were searching a location for the Olympic Games in Munich. Only after a protest of the Munich citizens the planned area for the Olympic Park has been moved further north and the illegally buildings stayed untouched. Väterchen Timofej lived there until 2004 when he died at the age of 110.
