A few years ago in Italy, a writer wrote a novel titled *I Want You* (literal translation of *Ho voglia di te*), the story of two teenagers who fall madly in love. Shortly afterward, a film with the same title was made. In the movie, the couple goes to an ancient Roman bridge, Ponte Milvio, where around a lamppost there is the so-called "love lock chain"—a place where two lovers attach a padlock and throw the key into the Tiber River as a symbol of eternal love...
Even in Cividale del Friuli, the small town where I was born, there’s a spot called *Il Belvedere* with a railing where you can also see love locks left by couples. On the balustrade, you can even read the initials of one couple and a date: *"A+B 14/02/2024"*—Valentine’s Day last year... I wonder if they’re still together... as the names "Federico + Vittoria" and "F + V" also if the date is not comprehensible.....
BTW.....The love lock tradition, representing a token of love, later spread to other movies...all over the world....
