There is much more to a pipe organ than that which meets the eye from the outside. There are over 2000 pipes of varying lengths and diameters in this fully restored 1930 Casavant “Opus 1386” organ. These are hidden in complex banks behind the decorative faux pipes out front. A large blower located two floors below feeds the required air to produce the sounds of each pipe. A complex series of rapid response actions inside the organ are manipulated by the organist through the manuals (keyboards), pedals and stop controls. Truly an awesome feeling to experience its complex / harmonious sounds in a live setting! All while it hides behind a wall of natural wood and mesh screens.
