This is the interior of a wildlife viewing blind in the EE Wilson Wildlife Area. Unfortunately, there was little wildlife to see when this was taken, but the idea is that observing from within the structure minimizes any disturbances to the wildlife. It seems like the viewers should be evident to the animals, but this sort of blind is fairly common. The idea, of course, is that viewers are hidden from the wildlife, at least to the extent that they are able to observe without difficulty.
The wildlife refuge is on a site that was an Army training facility in World War 2, long since abandoned and decaying. This is actually the third entry I've taken there. The first was in 2010 for "Forgotten Places", and the second was in 2014 for "Ruins".
