Patriotism... it is terribly abused idea. It was and it is nowadays a tool to manipulate with people to “willingly” fight for the others interests. Most often the award is a concrete monument with modest sign about the person who was beloved, was a son, father, sister, mother... very quickly forgotten... for nothing.
