Woman are Persons the Famous Five Monument
The five bronze sculptures were created by Barbara Paterson and cast by Bronzart Casting Ltd. of Calgary, Alberta.
The scene is intended to depict the time when the Famous Five read the news that they had been successful in having Canadian women declared "persons" under the law, and hence eligible to sit in the Senate.
- Emily Murphy, who initiated the Persons Case, is shown in a standing position beside her chair.
- Henrietta Muir Edwards and Louise McKinney are sitting beside a small table, drinking tea.
- Nellie McClung is shown holding up the news, while Irene Parlby has a look.
