Water takes the path of least resistance as the tides ebb and flow, and so water shapes the land. Here the tides have lifted the boardwalk out of the ground and left it lopsided. How will coastal areas around the world be affected as the sea level rises each year as a result of warming seas, glaciers receding and the ice shelves at the poles melting? Are we responsible or just the path of least resistance?
