This building is the existing oldest public apartment housing. This apartment was built by Osaka-City in 1931. Because the state that smoke amounted to from a chimney in the roof of a building seemed to be a warship, I was called "Gunkan apartment" by a popular name. "Gunkan" is a meaning in Japanese of warship.

In this house, eight three-storied apartments are built on about 7,100 square meters sites.

At the time of construction, a flush lavatory and dust chute were fully equipped with, and it was modernism architecture proud of the most ultramodern architecture design.

As for the current figure, a room becomes small, and, with wood and tin, there are many houses which add a small room to a porch.

The modern house with this history avoided collapse by a large-scale air raid of Osaka of 1945. However, it will be disturbed by the end of this year by deterioration.

When I set foot in a site of this building, to good old smell and air and solar light of this place, I feel it to be different from an outside town at all.

It is the mysterious sense that did time travel. I feel that a border is pulled between a site of this building and an outside town.
