In the Iberian Peninsula, the cork oak (Quercus suber) forest is between 500 and 900 meters. The cork oak is a tree about 10 meters high, with oval leaves and sharp edges, its acorns are 2 to 3 centimeters in length.

The bark of Quercus suber (cork) is thick, with unique qualities that make sure every 8 or 9 is started. The cork used in the wine industry and other industrial uses, allow the cultivation and forest esplotación of Quercus suber, with great importance in the Iberian peninsula, Portugal and Spain it accounts for 85% of world production.
