The millenary palm tree forest of Elche, a.k.a. Palmeral of Elche, was recognised by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site on the 30th of November 2000 (Criteria: (ii) (v) Ref: 930).
This world heritage oasis has not been much documented in 360º. This is my first attempt dedicated to El Palmeral for the special WWP UNESCO's International Year of Forest Series.
Palm trees in Elche are scattered everywhere. You can find them grouped in the wild and also in gardens or groves. This pano was captured at El Hort de Villa Carmen and shows a traditional palm grove in the middle of the city.
If you look for the spot, and just a few yards away from the city, you may get yourself in the middle of the palm tree forest.
