Here we are in the middle of nothing, nothing else than nature. This is the landscape of "Pinares del Rodeno" at Sierra of Albarracin, in Teruel. It's made of course of pines (Pinus pinaster), and also of red sandstone rocks. This combination of chaotic rounded rocks and green forest gives a colourful and very special landscape.
Now, at pandemic time, we are even more alone here. This region is currently called the "Spanish Lapland", with an area twice the size of Belgium, but with a population density similar to Lapland or the Scottish Highlands, around 7 inhabitants/km2.
The chaos of rocks even gave support to the Spanish Maquis people that after the Spanish Civil War (1936-39) continued fighting in guerrillas way against the dictatorship of Franco until the early 1960s. They had one of their campaments around three kilometres away of here.
Now is a place to enjoy hiking, off-road bikepacking, bouldering, mycology and entomology, that includes a special medieval town called Albarracín.
