Sunset over former starch factory

In August, we took the opportunity to spend a week at Sonja and Claudio Boldrin's exceptional place. Claudio is a professional chef, a passionate artist as well as a musician. In 2003, he took over the ruins of the old starch factory and turned them slowly and with an incredible attention to detail into 9 extraordinary holiday homes. Sonja uses the pastures around for their horses.

During the day you can lounge by or on the river on a raft, and in the evening there is usually an open fire around which you can sit, drink wine and talk, or just stare into the flames. I hardly know any other place where you can relax so completely.

The panorama is taken from a 22m high chimney, which can be climbed on the inside. The chimney itself is cancelled out by the downward shots. This way of taking panoramas is called "Flying Willy" in the panorama community, in honor of Willy Kaemena, who popularized it.
