This rock gate lays at 2660 m altitude, just 200 m off the hiking trail from the Val d'Agnel over Fuorcla digl Leget to Alp Flix.

Dolomite weathers, particles detach and are washed away. But because a stone is never completely evenly composed, it also does not weather equally everywhere. Sometimes this leads to spectacular formations like this rock gate.
