In celebration of our 10th anniversary Kat and I decided to do a little whisky (or is it whiskey?) tasting in Scotland. The sightseeing took us from distillery to distillery with amazing castles and natural beauty all around - and even the occasional sunny day. So when Kat asked what I thought about a trip to Ben Nevis I replied, "That sounds like a lovely distillery to try out next."

"Wait, why are we going up this mountain?"

Not only is Ben Nevis a delicious whisky, but it's also the highest mountain in all of the UK. Having done quite a bit of hiking back home in mountains that reach to 14,000 feet this should have been easy. But starting at sea level and climbing to 4,400 feet in 5 miles in the biting, cold wind is not just a quick hop out of the car. However the view was amazing and well worth the effort.

Besides, Kat bought me a wee dram once we made it back to the more civilized portion of our trip.
