Vienna Pride – Austria’s landmark LGBT event – every summer unites the Vienna LGBT community for Christopher Street Day. This allows for a broad and colorful event list in Austria’s capital.
Once again, this year Vienna Pride’s main events will be the Rainbow Parade on June 20th and the Pride Village, June 16th to June 20th, at the Rathausplatz. In 2015 the Rainbow Parade is celebrating it‘s 20th and the Pride Village it’s 5th anniversary.
PRIDE VILLAGE: A QUEER VILLAGE FOR EVERYBODY
Apart from that, a great number of other parties and events will be staged around the Vienna Pride making a visit to Vienna worthwhile.
Over the years the Pride Village has developed into a huge tent- town where Vienna’s LGBT community meets every year. From bars to organizations, various institutions of the LGBT community allow for its visitors to receive a condensed overview of Vienna’s LGBT diversity.
The center of the tent-town is the »Beach Area« made from sand and lawn patches where children can play, where people can relax after work or a tiresome sightseeing tour, and lie in beach chairs.
Around the Beach Area, various organizations present themselves and their activities at information stands to the visitors. A colorful mix of food and information stands, discussion panels, talks and space for spontaneous activities.
REGENBOGENPARADE: PARTY AT THE RING WITH AN AGENDA
During Vienna Pride, on June 20th, 2015, the Rainbow Parade will take place on the Vienna Ring. A demonstration made up of trucks, walking groups, party people and various vehicles. The Parade is the biggest and publicly most visible signal with more than 100.000 visitors every year. 2015 the Rainbow Parade is celebrating it‘s 20th anniversary.
