The photographer exposes a sheet of paper for the negative, develops it inside the camera. Another step photographs the paper negative to obtain a positive, usually adding a new background. So the develop, stop, fix and wash process happens twice for the final print. Along with the homemade tripod there are bottles of chemicals and a container to wash the prints.
A young lady hawks the sample prints to passerby tourists as the elder photographer adjusts this equipment for the next sitting. Hard work in the heat of a midday tropical sun.
