If Moscow's Red Square is definitely the main square of Russia, St. Petersburg Nevsky Prospekt is its main street. Its more than four kilometers are the backbone of the ancient capital of the tsars.

In the Nevsky Prospekt are not only many shops and bars of all kinds, but many of the most stunning monuments of the Russian city, among them the Stroganov Palace, Kazan Cathedral or the National Library, one of the most largest in the world.

A walk along the Nevsky Prospekt is the best way to take the pulse of St. Petersburg. In its sidewalks intersect all social classes and ethnic ideologies. Both its appearance (reminiscent of large central European capitals) and its inner life, it is probably the most European of Russian street. This panorama was taken at night and you can see part of the thriving nightlife of this wonderful city itself. This my contribution this year. Hope you like....
