August 19, 2009, around 12:30 pm local time
Buses bring the visitors through a narrow tunnel into the mountain. From there, long stairs lead to some enormous halls open to the public.
There is a huge playground for kids, people play badminton in the open areas, there are pick-nick tables along the walls and even WiFi internet access is provided. In the far corner (where the light is shining yellowish) you can find a chapel and a small museum. In a side arm towards the exit of the mines there is also a shop and restaurant area.
The atmosphere in the salt mine is said to be beneficial for patients suffering from respiratory diseases and since the 1960s patients have been receiving treatment here. According to the web site the standard program runs for 18 days and patients will spend 4 hours a day under ground.
