The Susquehanna River is a part of the Chesapeake Bay Watershed, beginning at Otsego Lake in Cooperstown, NY and finally emptying into the Chesapeake Bay at Havre de Grace, MD, after traveling through New York, Pennsylvania and Maryland. Far from its creek-like beginning in Copperstown, the river is wide as it drains into the bay. The Concord Point Lighthouse warned vessels of the dangerous conditions at the mouth of the river. The lighthouse was decommissioned in 1975, but still stands silent watch over the waters.

In 2006, I created several panoramas at the source of the Susquehanna in Cooperstown. (See the additional links below) Traveling through Maryland this summer, I had the opportunity to stop and do the same at the river's end. In addition to the lighthouse, a nature boardwalk follows the shoreline, and Millard E. Tydings Memorial Park provides a quiet spot for a rest.
