The West Baden Springs Hotel was built in 1902 and modeled after the greatest spas in Europe, complete with the world's largest free-span dome, at 200 feet in diameter. Once dubbed the "Eighth Wonder of the World," the hotel was a haven for celebrities, gamblers and political figures. It closed as a hotel in 1932 and subsequently became first a Jesuit seminary and then a private college. It was sold in 1985 to an owner who bankrupted before he could begin renovations. The vacant building deteriorated steadily until 1996, when Indiana Historic Landmarks Foundation and a corporate benefactor, Cook Group Incorporated of Bloomington, Indiana, bought it and undertook a $35 million USD renovation. It reopened as a hotel in 2007 and operates in conjunction with the nearby French Lick Hotel and Casino. You can read the complete history of this fascinating building here.

Nikon D300, Nikon 10.5mm, Nodal Ninja 3, Velbon343e tripod, 2gHz Mac G5 w 3.5 gb RAM, Lightroom, ACR, Bracketeer, PTGui Pro, Cubic Converter. 9 frames were shot for each exposure, 6 around, 1 up, 1 down, total 72 exposures.
