There is a lot more here to see than what first meets the eye!
Deceptively intriguing, approximately 85% of the Johnson Geo Centre's floor space is underground within a natural, excavated glacial basin. The only part of the facility that stands above ground is its 2.5-storey glass-encased entry portal. The unique subterranean architecture of the Centre allows visitors to see over 500 linear feet of exposed, ancient bedrock walls right inside the museum. These interior perimeter walls consist of untouched, 550-million-year-old natural sandstone bedrock belonging to Signal Hill's unique geological formation.
