Back in 2004 we hired a landscape architect to design and install a Xeriscape back yard. Her design main feature was to provide evergreen seasonal plantings that would provide color blooms for all seasons. Means some plants would be in bloom each season. Smoke tree and Little Gem Magnolia tree would bloom in the spring. Crape Myrtle bloom flaming pink Texas Autumn Sage in the summer and fall. Red and White Yuccas when ever they want to bloom. Texas Sagebrush burst into bloom before a rainstorm. Wild life like critters, the green gecko's and red racer lizards, help keep the bug population down. Humming Birds frequent the flowers. And the Mocking Birds nest in the trees. Honey bees like the blooming food source. Squirrels forage for food. Hawks, Bluejay, Sparrows, Humming Birds frequent our garden.
Early morning coffee while walking around our back yard it is easy to realize our back yard Eco habitat is home to a lot of critters, sounds and visuals.
