Braintree Electric Forecourt

This Gridserve Electric Forecourt, located near Braintree in Essex, provides EV drivers with superfast, reliable charging facilities using a set of high power chargers that can charge up to 36 vehicles simultaneously. The forecourt is the first of 100 to be built in the UK over the next 5 years.

EV charging facilities include 6 AC chargers (up to 22 kW), 12 DC Chargers (up to 90 kW), 12 DC Chargers (up to 350 kW) and 6 Tesla Superchargers.

Clean energy is supplied from bifacial solar panels mounted on the overhead canopies and from Gridserve's solar farms located near York and Hull. The forecourt has 5 MWh of on-site battery storage and a 5 MW connection to the national grid.
