Building a Sopwith Strutter, from scratch, not a model, not a mock-up, this plane is SET to fly

This is not a game; it is deadly serious. This plane has been built using Sopwith's original plans for a World War 1, two-seater fighter aircraft. The first British plane with a synchronous propeller machine gun, adjustable flaps for lower speed take-of and landing, adjustable tailplane to aid trimming as fuel is burned and the first with air brakes for landing.

The aircraft will fly under a Permit to Fly, approved by the Light Aircraft Association (LAA). This requires that every part is inspected by an approved LAA Inspector. All nonstandard parts had to be tested to ensure compliance with the current regulations".

The APSS (Aviation Preservation Society Scotland), a dedicated band of retired enthusiasts with an interest in aviation who have been building the plane for over 20 years and hope to be SET to fly the Strutter at the start of 2022.
