The historic 1924 Walnut Canyon bridge and the more modern concerete structure built next to it show how the road network in the area. This bridge pre-dates Route 66 and was incorperated into the original Route 66 when it was designated in 1926. This section of road through (Don't Forget) Winona Arizona is just a continuation of the original horse and wagon paths that had developed in the area from its earliest settlement.
