An old Roman tower from the 4th century is the base of the church Saint Bernard of Menthon in Ferrette. From the Gothic church built in the 12th century only the choir still exists, the nave was built in the 20th century. If you look closely at the roof rail, you will see two gargoyles who spit the rainwater not into the air and down on the ground as in former times, but very properly through the rain water downpipes directly into the sewer system.
