this number is the historic sign of an oldtimer glider. It is sitting among normal gliders on the glider airfield on the Wasserkuppe, a mountain in Hesse.The old wooden glider is a "Weihe", designed by Hans Jacobs in 1938 and was build by hand from November 1949 to July 1951 by Bernhard Müller in Switzerland. It has won many prizes in the 1950s and 1960s.
The final restoration was done by Peter Ocker from 2013 to 2016. A detailed german documentation of the rebuilding including many pictures is on his website.
It seems I cought it on one of the first thermal soaring flights on the Wasserkuppe.
