Like at so many junctions in forests, here too at the Kartoffelbaum (potato tree) are direction signs showing the distances (in numbers of km) to nearby places. Pan to the left to see the Kartoffelbaum. In this tree you might find a number of potatoes. It doesn't grow potatoes, but people traditionally decorate it with them. The origin of this tradition is not exactly known.
