The world nowadays certainly does not seem to be a peaceful place. But then again, it probably never has been. This picture shows a memorial for the victims of the second world war in the small peaceful town of Bad Hindelang in southern Germany. Similar memorials can probably be found in each small village in the area, a constant reminder of the past. Just in the background, you can see the town's cemetery where some of those victims finally rest in peace. I took the liberty to add some sound that I recorded nearby, the sound of cattle bells that you can here everywhere in this beautiful area, even when standing on the burial grounds.
