When thinking about the topic of History, I couldn't think of a better historic icon from Malvern than the Morgan Motor Car. The
Morgan Motor Company was formed in 1910 by Harry Frederick Stanley Morgan, affectionately known as HFS. Originally he built a 3-wheeled cyclecar for himself but after receiving interest in his creation he decided to start building the vehicle for others too.
A series of other 3-wheeled cars were produced right up until 1952 but it wasn't until 1936 that Morgan’s produced their first 4-wheeled cars, the 4-4. Again this car was follow by a series of other 4-wheeled vehicles, all sporting the distinctive flowing lines over the front wheels and down to the running boards. In 2000 Morgan’s produced the first of their Modern Morgan’s, the Aero 8. This car still had the earlier Morgan’s distinctive lines, but maybe "beefed up" a bit.
Now in 2011 things come full circle with a new 3-wheeled Morgan. What you see in the panorama is not the normal version but a limited-edition "Superdry" version, limited to just 200 vehicles.
Finally I get to the room you see above, it is almost full of wonderful new Morgan’s just waiting for their owners to come and collect them or to have them delivered to them. This room just oozes Englishness (if there ever is such a word). There's some satisfaction about seeing a car and knowing that is was assembled by hand!
A big thank you must go to the kind people at the Morgan Motor Company for allowing me to come in and shoot my panoramas and for being so welcoming. Thank you.
