The museum consists of an old farm house, where the oldest part, the kitchen (where the pano is from), is around 350-years-old. It has been a museum since 1925 and at that time it even had electricity, which was a rarity in those days in rural Norway. Today there is no electricity and no water there and the museum is only open during the summer. The building has had a quite extensive restoration in later years.
It contains a nice collection of tools, utensils, textiles and furniture, and it is nice to know that a part of that collection was made and/or used by my own ancestors. :)
