On one side, a group of mature cannabis plants await harvest while on the other side their replacements continue the vegetative cycle. These mature plants are at the end of their 15-week lifespan and their replacements are only about 4-weeks-old. This physical crossroads is overshadowed by the legal and cultural crossroads of law and perception. In 2001, Colorado citizens voted to authorize doctors and patients to make decisions about the use of cannabis for the treatment of several debilitating medical conditions. Known originally as Amendment 20, the law now resides within the state's constitution in ARTICLE XVIII, Section 14. The exact text of the law can be found here at the state's web site.
